Greenfields Estate is currently under construction and will consist of 1080 residential units, of which 328 will be one-bedroom units (31m2) aimed at the primary rental market, and 752 units will be two-bedroom units (42m2) aimed at the secondary rental market. The units will be located within a total of 45 four-storey walk-up building typologies.
The site is being developed in such a way that the blocks will have shared recreational facilities such as outdoor gyms and dedicated children’s play areas. Each unit will be fitted with fibre and a DStv connection point. Each unit is supplied with a solar geyser and plans are in place to implement carports with solar photovoltaic panels in order to optimise on solar energy.
Amenities such as a multi-purpose community hall, a five-a-side soccer field and braai facilities are also on the list for further improvements following the initial tenanting of the development. The aim is to meet the THH 5-star grading for Social Housing Developments through implementing this additional infrastructure.
